Assistant NM Pre-K Teacher

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Assist the Pre-K teacher in the Pre-K classroom and at the classroom level. Assist in creating and maintaining a safe environment where children can reach the next milestone in their development. Tend to the daily needs of children, plan lessons, record observation and assessments, and ensure and monitor plan family involvement. Assists Center Director and Coordinator in planning and implementing activities designed to promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

AA or be enrolled in an associate degree program in early childhood education within 6 months of hire and must complete 6 credits annually; CDA or CDC; bilingual in English/Spanish; 2 years’ experience in working with children in a day care setting; successfully complete Early Pre-K Database training, and FOCUS trainings while holding position; knowledge and experience on the normal range of development of children;

Other Information/Requirements: 

Demonstrate excellent leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate people. Preferred: a minimum 2 years experience of supervision in an early childhood educational setting preferred.

Salary Range: 
Pay range starts at $14.74 per hour/$30,659 annually, DOE.
