Assistant Director Membership and Annual Giving

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Oversee membership acquisition, stewardship, and annual giving programs to expand SFBG’s donor base and achieve revenue goals. Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives. Supervise the Membership Administrator, ensuring success in growing membership and annual fund contributions. Reports to the Executive Director.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Develop and execute strategies to grow membership (individual and corporate) and annual fund contributions. Oversee campaigns, donor stewardship, and events, achieving revenue goals. Supervise the Membership Administrator, manage donor databases, and ensure exceptional customer service. Collaborate with senior staff on engagement initiatives and represent SFBG to the community.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3-5 years in membership or annual fund development, preferably in a nonprofit. Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Altru), MS Office, and Google applications. Supervisory experience, enthusiasm for SFBG’s mission, and knowledge of horticulture or botany preferred. Multilingual skills are valued.
