Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Rio Rancho Youth Chorus (RRYC) seeks an energetic, caring, and creative accompanist. The RRYC accompanist would have the skills and experience in multiple styles and genres of music, have the technical skills to play challenging pieces and have the rhythmical ear to handle syncopation and groove. The RRYC accompanist would attend all rehearsals and performances.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Need a passion and the patience for working with 6-12 grade students from beginners to advanced students. The accompanist must have the patience to work with these students of all musical abilities, working one-on-one for solo accompanying or assisting with the teaching of harmony parts to various sections of the ensemble. The accompanist will be an important part of the creative team, working directly with the artistic director and contributing ideas to the discussion about concert production.

Other Information/Requirements: 

The RRYC has two concert seasons per year of approximately 14 weeks each. The accompanist should be present and prepared for each weekly two-hour rehearsal, one dress rehearsal per concert, and two concert performances per season plus 2-3 additional performances at special events in the area.
