Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Academic Support Advisor (ASA) provides educational services and support to Upward Bound program participants. The ASA will help in developing and updating program materials, managing and collecting program data, updating information in the center’s database and help in conducting program presentations for recruitment purposes. The ASA will also manage tutors and volunteers at the assigned school sites.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The selected candidate will provide program participants with academic advising and planning, information about post-secondary options, college entrance examination, and financial aid; assistance with the application process; assist students with college applications and all financial aid applications; Chaperone field trips and activities outside of normal working hours and maintain student files and accurate records.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree required in education or related field; experience in providing high school youth with academic advising services and college, career, and financial aid information preferred; experience overcoming barriers similar to those confronting the target population preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish), Valid NM driver’s license, reliable transportation. Must pass APS background check.
