Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:
Arts & Culture: Wells Fargo considers requests from organizations that work to enhance community diversity through: Access to and participation in cultural experiences for low- and moderate-income individuals; Availability of a broad array of artistic opportunities and venues that reflect the community’s diversity; School partnerships and outreach programs.
Human Services: Wells Fargo considers support of social and human service organizations whose work primarily benefits low- and moderate-income individuals including: Health services and education; Basic needs assistance; and Child care.
Community Development: Help provide affordable housing for low and moderate-income individuals and families; Promote economic development; Provide job training programs for low and moderate-income individuals; and Help to revitalize or stabilize low and moderate-income neighborhoods.
Education: Wells Fargo encourages requests for financial support of educational institutions, as well as for non-profits whose primary focus is to help these institutions. The primary focus of the grant should be to promote academic achievement for low- and moderate-income students. Wells Fargo supports programs ranging from early childhood development through the university level, but the primary emphasis is on K-12 public schools. Wells Fargo actively encourages requests for staff training for teachers and administrators working with low- and moderate-income students and also entertains grant requests from educational institutions and support organizations for the purpose of teaching financial literacy.
Environment: Wells Fargo considers requests from organizations whose primary purpose is to: Conserve natural resources; or Provide environmental education.
