Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:
Partner Agencies: To become a San Juan United Way Partner Agency, an agency must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, serving clients for human health, welfare and/or human development and be accessible to clients and potential clients throughout the entire San Juan County. Agencies must demonstrate a reasonable degree of continuity, and permanence, exhibited by no less than one year's existences within the community. It must also demonstrate a broad range of voluntary financial contributions and a sizable and active volunteer membership that is representative of the area it serves. More criteria is listed online.
Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: Partner Agencies can not have as their primary functions general education, politics, religion, propaganda issues, cultural issues, or any other issue identified by the San Juan United Way Board of Directors as controversial in nature.
