Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:
AIDS: Interested in new model, pilot and demonstration efforts: Addressing underserved at-risk populations; Responding to the challenges facing organizations; Providing meaningful school-based sex education; Making treatment information accessible; and Addressing the psycho-social needs of those infected with AIDS, especially adolescents.
Environment: Supports innovative pilot, model and demonstration projects that will help move individuals, communities and organizations from environmental awareness to environmental activism by changing attitudes and behaviors.
Mental Health: The Foundation brings a "venture capital" approach to philanthropy. It is interested in innovative, pilot, model and demonstration projects that: Fight the mental health stigma; Utilize new knowledge and technological advances; Dissemination of new knowledge and technology; and Preventative mental health efforts targeted to youth and adolescents.
Type of Funding/ Funding Restrictions: The Foundation does not generally provide funds for: Projects that are local in focus and unlikely to be replicated; Capital building projects; Endowments; Grants to individuals; Continuing or general support; International projects; or Biomedical research.
