Mission/Giving Statement: We foster organizations and activities that are sustainable in an economic and environmental sense. We help people invest in themselves to improve their economic condition and that of their families and communities. All of this ties to our values: self-reliance, human dignity, equal opportunity, and preservation of life and beauty on our earth.
Grantmaking Program Areas: The PRI-making activities of the Dakota Foundation are limited to non-profit groups in North Dakota and New Mexico whose programs empower people and increase their control over their own economic destinies.
Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:
New Mexico Nonprofits: Supportive of organizations that collaborate with other community groups to create broad-based solutions to common issues. It is important to us that a project or program is sustainable, scalable, and that benchmarks and indicators are in place to ensure meaningful and measurable results.
Type of Funding/Funding Restrictions: The Foundation does not support drives, events, budget deficits, camps, medical research, theathrical/artistic/media productions/projects, building endowments, or historical projects.
