Democracy and Philanthropy in These Times
Democracy and Philanthropy in These Times
Groundworks is proud to co-sponsor this funders-only event
Beyond solidarity, what do attacks on the very personhood of trans people have to do with voting rights for Black folks and citizenship for migrants? What does birth right citizenship have to do with the Reconstruction Era and the end of slavery in the US? How does reproductive justice interconnect across all of these?
Join us in listening to LaTosha Brown (Black Voters Matter), Eric K. Ward (Race Forward), and Ken Chapman (Democratizing Justice Initiative) in conversation about what philanthropy can do right now to support movements and communities under attack, and how philanthropy can prepare for the fights ahead. Together, we must resist authoritarianism and division, and organize everywhere for a multiracial democracy.
Audience: This session is for grantmakers, donors, and funder affinity groups.
