As trustees, the board is legally responsible for the organization, its activities, personnel and finances.  Boards execute their responsibility by providing financial, fiscal and fiduciary oversight.  Are you familiar with the four duties of nonprofit board members as outlined by the New Mexico Attorney General?  Join us as we use the four duties to discuss the 3 Fs of oversight.

Presenters
Anne Nokes has been a member of the Albuquerque community since 1960 and she has been volunteering here for most of that time.  She has served on many Boards of Directors including:  All Faiths Receiving Home, PB&J Family Services, New Futures Inc., Alta Mira, United Way, Cuidando Los Niños, Barrett Foundation and the NM Zoological Society.  Currently she is also serving on a Citizen's Review Board that reviews the permanency plans for children who are in Foster Care.  Anne is very proud to have been honored as New Mexico's Outstanding Volunteer in Philanthropy and by receiving the Arthur H. Spiegel Lifetime Achievement Award given by United Way of Central New Mexico.

Ian Esquibel is a native New Mexican who attended college in Arizona, specializing in Communication and Nonprofit Leadership and Management. He is currently pursuing an MBA with an emphasis in nonprofit management at the University of New Mexico.  He has worked in early childhood development, philanthropy and education.  Ian also serves on the Young Nonprofit Professionals' Network New Mexico Board.
