Get focused and be efficient with grant research. Learn how to use the New Mexico Grantmakers Directory and the federal Grants.gov website.

The New Mexico Grantmakers Directory was launched in 2008 and is a searchable database of entities that specifically award grants to New Mexico nonprofit organizations. The Directory was created to provide grantseekers with a focused point for grant research and to provide accurate and concise grantmaker profiles. Learn how to find a funder with goals that match your organization, and do further research on the funder. Learn why it is important to be in alignment with grantmaker priorities and guidelines.

Launched in 2003 Grants.gov provides a single website for federal grant opportunities. Learn how to search grant opportunities, register to receive notices of new opportunities and download grant application packages. Find out about DUNS numbers and why you might need one. Learn how to decipher the world of federal grants.

Presented by Margaret Ambler Salamon and Nancy Pope. Margaret is the Research Specialist at the Center for Nonprofit Excellence and she has been responsible for the creation of the New Mexico Grantmakers Directory. Nancy is the Director of the New Mexico Collaboration to End Hunger and was previously the Director of Governor Richardson's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.
