Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Ethos Literacy is a reading and education center that provides free tutoring to Albuquerque’s youth and adults in reading, writing and English Language Acquisition. We also provide turning in math, GED prep, computer skills and US Citizenship.

The Event:  Third Annual Short Short Story Contest. This is a national contest where writers submit a story using no more than 100 words on one of four pre-determined topics.
The Volunteer Project: Story Reader. Readers will read story submissions and fill out a scoring rubric sheet
Expected Time Commitment: 2 hours

The Short Short Story Contest is a fundraiser to support literacy programs. We impact teens, adults, immigrants, low-literate individuals and their famlies.

Additional Requirements: 

Can volunteers work whenever and wherever they want?  Yes. This is an ideal opportunity because it can be done remotely and volunteers will schedule their own time. Technical Requirements: Volunteers must have an active email address, be able to download stories in PDF and complete an online scoring rubric.
