Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

UVNR's mission is to cultivate educational, economic, cultural, social and physical and mental health resources in partnership with newcomers to empower newcomers to achieve system change that supports their well-being and integration in their new communities. Finances are currently managed by UVNR’s Executive Director, Associate Director, and a part-time Finance Coordinator, in collaboration with an outside accounting firm.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Our organization uses the inclusive, non-stigmatized term “newcomers” to encompass all the populations we serve - refugees, immigrants, asylum-seekers and other migrant groups. UVNR community leaders currently work with families from Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine, Mexico and Central and South America.
