New Mexico Legal Aid seeks a Managing Attorney for the Statewide Intake, Referral and Advice unit.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Monitoring the intake and referral processes;
• Coordinating with individual NMLA Advocates to provide service involving less than full representation such as: brief advice and counsel self-help assistance, client legal education and other alternative non-litigation service methods.
• Carrying a reasonable load of brief service cases, counsel & advice cases, clinic presentations, and other non-litigation advocacy activities in many areas of law

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Admission to practice in New Mexico required or ability to qualify for a limited license;
• Prior experience in administrative and supervisory roles;
• Experience in a legal aid program or other relevant practice environment is preferred;
• Use computer technology and remote communications systems to effectively supervise and co-counsel with staff located in multiple offices;
