Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Position Description:

The Housing and Foreclosure counselor’s goal is to provide aspiring homebuyers with the skills, knowledge and information to buy and maintain a home, and to help homeowners facing delinquency and foreclosure restructure their mortgage debt. Must be excellent with math, verbal and written communications, analytical, self motivated, able to confidently exercise independent judgment, and really want to make a difference in low to moderate income communities.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Work with clients who are delinquent in their mortgage payments to help them determine the best methods to either catch up by developing and negotiating individual work out plans with the lender that will assist and meet the particular circumstances and needs of the client with their problems regarding their mortgage payments or that resolve their delinquency problems

Other Information/Requirements: 

Requirements:

1. B.A. or B.S. degree from a reputable four year college or university preferred but not required

2. An understanding of/experience with mortgage lending, underwriting policies, and loan closing procedures highly desirable but not required. We will train.

3. A demonstrated commitment to social justice, either having some experience with non profits or volunteering in your community is highly desirable.
