Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The School for Advanced Research (SAR) seeks an experienced events manager to assist with production of SAR’s Creative Thought Forum, a series of five public events taking place between April 28 and May 9. The events manager (EM) is a producer and administrator working closely with the director of Public Programs and Communications (DPPC) and additional SAR colleagues. The EM reports to the DPPC.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

TERM: Monday, April 15 through Friday, May 10
HOURS AND COMPENSATION: The position is 20 hours/week plus time for the events that are outside of regular work hours, an estimate of 100 to 120 hours for the project. The events manager will be paid $35/hour.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Required Qualifications
The EM will be skilled at organizing and overseeing diverse and numerous details of in-person public events; highly functional and poised under pressure; able to move between tasks quickly and to observe and respond to changing situations requiring prompt decision-making and action. Minimum three years’ experience producing events. Experience and aptitude with technology including online ticketing platforms, PC and Apple computers, audio/video technologies, and others.
