Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsible for performing various duties to support the accounting function’s goal of timeliness and accuracy including journal entry preparation, general ledger analysis and reconciliation. This also includes monitoring government contracts and restricted charitable gift programs. They will work in conjunction with department staff and the CFO to ensure timely audit reporting, revenue tracking of invoices, proper job coding against budgets, and to resolve funding issues/inquiries.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties; a minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting/bookkeeping; and 2 years of experience overseeing government contracts. Candidate must have excellent computer skills and experience in accounting software.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Microsoft Office Suite; exquisite math and numerical skills; outstanding organizational and time management skills; attention to detail and accuracy are a must; excellent communication abilities; bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision, maintain a high degree of confidentially and the ability to handle sensitive information. Candidate must be able to relate to the public. Reports directly to the CFO.
