Grant Tracking with QuickBooks

Registration is closed for this event

Learn how to use the Customer/Job and Class features in QuickBooks to track your grants.  Revenue/Expenses and performance against grant budgets will be covered in detail. Whether you need to track one grant or several, QuickBooks, with the right set up, can help make it easier.  For hands-on experience in using the procedures taught in this workshop, participants will need to bring a laptop with 2009 or high QuickBooks (Pro, Premier or Enterprise) loaded (PC only, not Mac).  If participants cannot bring a laptop, they will still be able to observe the live demonstration projected on a screen.  A sample nonprofit database will be provided to all participants.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- know what needs to be set up in QuickBooks when they receive a new grant
- know the proper way to recognize grant and contract revenue
- properly post allocation of expenses to grants and contracts
- track actual activity compared to approved grant or contract budgets and determine un-expended fund balances
- produce QuickBooks reports used for managing grants/contracts
