Building Your Board: Recruitment, Nomination and Training 2011

The foundation for building an exceptional nonprofit board is the nomination and recruitment process. Recruiting a board that is committed, skilled, diverse and engaged can be tough. Jan Hosea and Jim Bonnell have streamlined, polished and fine tuned the recruitment and nomination process and will share their successful strategies with you.

Presented by Jan Hosea and Jim Bonnell of Jan Hosea and Associates.  

Jan Hosea has been involved with nonprofit organizations all her life.  She "grew up" in the American Red Cross and served that organization for over 45 years as a dedicated professional and volunteer.  She has been a United Way professional, served as the Director of Development for the University of New Mexico School of Law and recently was the Director of Planned Giving for Presbyterian Health Foundation.  Through these positions and as a consultant since 1989, she has accumulated over 35 years of management and fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector.

Jim Bonnell brings experience in general management and administration, facilitation of volunteer committees and groups, board development, policies and procedures, guidance and mentoring, and interaction with professional and volunteer organizations.  His experience base also includes background in personnel recruitingand supervision, public relations, presenting, grant writing, review and purchasing of materials and equipment, event planning, and being an enthusiastic, seasoned community volunteer!
