Building Your Community Through Social Media

In this training we'll look at how to build a community around your social media efforts without allowing them to take over all your time.  Participants will learn about best practices, good sources of ongoing information and technology helpers that will assist them in streamlining their social media efforts -- all at no cost.  This class is appropriate for both newbies to social media marketing and to amateurs who want to take it up a notch.  Participants are strongly encourage to bring their own laptops in order to get the most out of the session (but laptops are not required).

Participants will learn:
- to determine which and how much social media is right
- to develop a voice for your social media writing
- to use technology tools to manage your time and resources around social media

Presented by Sophie Martin, MBA, Sophie Martin Public Relations.  She is Managing Editor of the award-winning Albuquerque cityblog the Duke City Fix (www.dukecityfix.com).  Sophie is a regular panelist on KNME-Tv's New Mexico in Focus.  She also directs social media outreach for the national news site, The Faster Times (www.thefastertimes.com) and teaches marketing and social media for the UNM Anderson School of Management.  Sophie has placed media for the Georgia O'Keefe Museum, UNM Anderson School of Management, Los Angeles Opera, Santa Fe Art Institute, Popejoy Hall, and The College of Santa Fe.  She has been named twice to the New Mexico Business Weekly's "40 Under Forty" list and is a past president of the New Mexico Advertising Federation.
