Fiscal Fitness: Cash Management

This session will include an overview of nonprofit financial statements, good cash management practices and tips on how to survive the current economic environment.  Generating reliable financial information allows board members and management to make timely decisions to ensure the nonprofit's fiscal health and financial sustainability. 

Presented by Barbara Lewis, CPA, Atkinson.  Barbara serves as the head of the Audit Department and Quality Control Director for Atkinson & Co., Ltd.  In addition to 25 years experience as a CPA, Barbara has extensive volunteer experience with nonprofit boards.  She is currently on the board or committee of United Way of Central New Mexico, Ronald McDonald House Children's Charities, ARCA, Construction Financial Management Association, Beta Alpha Psi-Honorary Accounting Fraternity, and Valencia Elementary Parent/Teacher Committee.  Barbara has received many awards: 2010 Leadership Albuquerque Alumni Association Community Leadership Award; 2009 Construction Financial Management Association Executive of the Year Award; 2005 AICPA Women to Watch Award; 2004 YWCA "Women on the Move Award;" 2000 YWCA Leadership and Service Award; 2000 Outstanding Member in Public Practice - MNSCPAs; 1996 Community Service Award --NMSCPAs; and two time recipient of "We Care Award given by Atkinson  Co., Ltd.  She has a Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico University.
