Directors' & Officers' Liability Insurance 3-2009

Registration is closed for this event

Nonprofit organizations and board members can be sued by donors, employees, government agencies, or the general public. And the personal assets of individuals are at stake.

Today nonprofit management decisions are analyzed and board members and executive staff are under the watchful eye of donors, the IRS, and other key stakeholders. In this climate it is important for nonprofits to understand Directors and Officers Liability insurance, the insurance that covers damage resulting from wrong decisions.

D&O insurance may cover:

  1. Employment-related issues (discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination)
  2. Financial mismanagement
  3. Conflict of interest and self dealing
  4. Negligence
  5. Dissemination of false or misleading information

It is important for Board members and executive staff to understand D&O Insurance. Attend to learn about why nonprofits need D&O insurance, implications of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act on nonprofits, and how to reduce your risk.
