Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Volunteers are needed at The Wildlife Center in Espanola on an ongoing basis to assist staff in several areas. Cleaning crews volunteer on Tuesday and Friday mornings to clean the mews (cages) of the educational animals, including eagles, hawks, owls and bobcats. Additional opportunities come available for feeders, construction, injured animal transport and education.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

The Wildlife Center provides rehabilitation to injured, orphaned and ill wildlife as well as conservation education to the public. Volunteers contribute to the mission of the organization and therefore help support our native New Mexico wildlife.

Additional Requirements: 

Paperwork for The Wildlife Center as well as for permitting organizations (US Fish and Wildlife and NM Dept. of Game & Fish) must be completed prior to commencement. Volunteers working with wildlife must be 18 years of age.
