Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:

Food distributions are primarily mobile, pop up sites that happen out in the community away from the food bank’s warehouse. People in need and facing hunger visit these distribution locations set up in a drive through format to pick up food for their family and household. They receive various food items including non-perishable foods, nutritious food such as fruits, vegetables and other perishable items to take home and prepare nutritious meals.

Roadrunner Food Bank has two mobile food distributions in Albuquerque each week: Tuesday mornings at Expo NM, and Friday mornings at the AMC Theater (Rio Bravo/Coors).

Our team always needs the helping hands of volunteers to assist at these outdoor distributions. Volunteers should dress for the weather and be prepared to walk or stand for several hours. Volunteers must register in advance. This is a great opportunity for groups.
