Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Small, unloved dogs need temporary homes! LDRNM needs a Foster Coordinator to be the POC for foster activities including working with the adoption coordinator to place dogs who are new to our system with the appropriate foster and to coordinate transportation of dogs to foster homes. You will use your own experience and the experience of our current fosters to design your own job! And you get to work with a dedicated team of other volunteers.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

It takes a team to rescue a small, "throw away" dog and you can be a vital part of this team. Foster families give the rescues a loving temporary home and a new chance at life. NM shelters are overwhelmed with unwanted dogs, many of which will never make it out alive.

Reimbursement for cell phone, gasoline and other direct expenses.

Additional Requirements: 

You'll need to use the phone and email - a LOT! - and be able to handle more than one task at a time. Communication skills are needed as well as comfort in working with a volunteer team. We have a great team the Foster Coordinator can rely on for information and help.
