Volunteer Coordinator (UNM Work-Study)

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

This position’s function is to coordinate Media Literacy Project’s volunteers by recruiting, maintaining, training, assigning tasks, and communicating regularly with them.
Responsibilities:
Recruit new volunteers, conduct intakes, and conduct orientation
Train volunteers on various projects
Communicate regularly with volunteers
Maintain existing volunteers by plugging them into projects
Maintain organized records
Assist in fundraising
Support MLP events

Qualifications:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Ability to work individually and as a team
Ability to work with MLP’s volunteers and organizational partners, including youth, people of color, immigrant, and LGBTQ communities
Interest in social justice and/or non-profits
Applicants must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license
Applicants must have a work study award

Other Information/Requirements: 

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of non-profits
Understanding of social justice frameworks
Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus, but not required
