Visual Arts Educator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Collaborating with the Deputy Director to create, test and evaluate curriculum; teach 2D and 3D introductory level workshops; student recruitment and mentoring; guest artist support; grant reporting and administrative accountability; budget development and tracking; studio supplies and maintenance; and collaborating with program staff with a shared commitment to fresh, non-didactic approaches to creating socially and politically, thought-provoking art.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Minimum Qualifications: BFA in studio art and/or art education OR equivalent. MInimum 3 years experience teaching and working in intergenerational and culturally diverse environments and demonstrated commitment to educational equity and social change. Knowledge of art history, contemporary art and art-making practice. A Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Creative Suite or Mac equivalent. Fluent Spanish/English a plus.
