Prevention and Awareness Coordinator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Under general supervision, plans, implements and evaluates sexual violence prevention projects, including delivering short and long-term educational presentations/workshops, develop and implement community organizing initiatives aimed at preventing sexual assault and abuse and conducts outreach to underserved populations.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

•Develop, implement, and evaluate projects targeting youth that will address all aspects of sexual violence (including anti-oppression issues.
•Recruit youth to participate in activities and organizing efforts
•Build supportive relationships with community members, including teachers, parents, service providers, and other pertinent organizations
•Develop and implement targeted outreach to underserved populations
•Prepare and disseminate educational and promotional materials.

Other Information/Requirements: 

•Bachelors degree in social work, communications, political science or other relevant area.
•Direct experience working with diverse populations.
•Strong commitment and experience with anti-oppression and social justice issues
•Experience and interest in program development, community based evaluation, and group facilitation
Strong facilitation and organizational skills
•Bilingual: Spanish and English preferred
