Parent Educator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Working closely with the Family Support Service Director and Community organizations, this position coordinates the weekly education program at CLN and provides resources and referral for job and life skills training in the community.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• MUST be Bilingual/Bi-literate and Proficient in Spanish and English
• Strong commitment to our vision of ensuring every child and family is free from homelessness
• BA in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Teaching and/or training experience with adult populations
• Experience working with low income populations
• Experience in public speaking
• Local community resource knowledge
• Awareness and understanding of homelessness

Other Information/Requirements: 

•Sensitivity to cultural, language, and socioeconomic differences
•All employees must meet the NMChild Care licensing requirements regarding criminal records background check
•Have a TB test (per childcare licensing requirements)
•Have administrative skills such as organization and attention to detail
•Have basic computer skills: word processing, data entry, internet
•Have excellent time management skill
