Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Intern will work full-time in various aspects of running a homeless shelter. S/he will assist in taking in guests, organizing meals, processing donations, providing case management, and other duties integral to the running of the shelter.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The organization strives to facilitate an internship experience that will bring a mutually satisfying experience to both the intern and the residents. After the initial training period, we can work together on specific goals or educational pursuits for the intern.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Compensation: $6.00 an hour plus room and board. Health insurance available after successful 90 day waiting period with a one year commitment. Interns live together in an apartment on the 2nd floor of the shelter. Due to space constraints, housing is not provided for pets, spouses or partners.

How to Apply: 

Qualifications: Interns must have a high school degree and 2 years of college or work experience and be willing to work hard at helping the homeless. Useful skills include some prior experience working or volunteering in the social services. Spanish speaking ability and a valid driving license are a plus.
