Family Resource Specialist

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• The Family Resource and Referral Specialist position emphasizes a proactive approach in fostering a sense of family well-being and empowerment by linking families with coordinated community resources to help them become re-housed and self-sufficient

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Have at least an Associate’s degree in Family Studies, Social work or related field and one year experience with home visiting and family case management or other relevant education, experience or training.
Bilingual English / Spanish fluency
• Have previous experience working with homeless, low-income or at-risk populations
• Be able to relate and communicate effectively with a broad, diverse population that includes fellow staff, parents and children.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Be able to collaborate and work as a team member on behalf of the Agency and for the families.
• Have interpersonal skills such as tact, warmth and sensitivity.
• Have administrative skills such as organization and attention to detail.
• Have basic word processing, data entry and internet skills
• All employees must meet the New Mexico Child Care licensing requirements regarding criminal records background check,
• Have a TB test (per childcare licensing requirements)
