Distance Education Instructor

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

ABQ-ALC is looking for a Distance Education Instructor to take over our newly revamped DE cohort
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach HSE topics in a synchronous, online environment
- Advise and guide adult students to enable self-directed learning
- Ensure that all curriculum and classroom practices meet CCR Standards
- Facilitate student-specific learning plans that align with student goals
- Administer testing instruments, such as TABE and HSE practice tests

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

- Contribute to primary and secondary student goal requirements to meet grantor targets
- Be aware of and follow all grant guidelines as well as ensure delivery of all grant specific outcomes
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
- Advocate and foster good rapport with students, staff, and community partners
- Maintain close communication with all other staff members
- Assist the Program Director with instructional, curricular, and administrative tasks or activities

Other Information/Requirements: 

The ideal candidate has HSE experience, online teaching experience, TABE certification, and knowledge of adult learning theories, as well as asynchronous, self-paced programs such as Essential Education and Khan Academy. Also, please note that although the position is primarily conducted online, we are only considering candidates who live in or near the Albuquerque Metro area due to in-person meeting and PD requirements.
