Director of Development (Santa Fe)

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsible for procuring major gifts and supervising the Santa Fe annual giving, membership and event programs. This position will work closely with board members and the Philanthropy Research Analyst to identify and qualify new prospects, maintain and refresh board and staff portfolios, and actively cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors. This position will also serve as copywriter for marketing and donor recognition materials in cooperation with the Marketing & Media Manager.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Supervises the Santa Fe Membership & Events Manager whose primary responsibilities include adding, renewing, and upgrading members, coordinating the Santa Fe Gala, and identifying new advertising sponsors. Supervises the Sr. Development Associate position whose primary responsibilities include generating annual appeals, gift entry and tracking, reporting, and database management. Attends meetings of the Santa Fe Individual Giving Committee and the Development Committee.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Cultivates, solicits, and stewards a personal portfolio of major gift prospects and donors (75-100).
Works with board members, development staff, and volunteers to identify and qualify major gift prospects.
Works closely with senior development staff to generate personalized cultivation plans for top donors.
Maintains and refreshes board and staff portfolios; oversees prospect assignments.
Promotes NDI New Mexico in the community.
Other duties as assigned.
