Development Assistant

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

This position supports the Development Director with a primary focus on events, member and volunteer engagement, donor research and processing of gifts.

Primary responsibilities include:
• Leadership in organizing events.
• Recruit and manage volunteers.
• Prepare donor reports and targeted mailing lists. Research donor history using advanced database research skills.
• Assist with membership recruitment, including coordinating volunteers to staff tables at community events.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

* Process membership contributions.
* Record and acknowledge contributions, including both one-time and end-of-year acknowledgments.
* Maintain the donor/member database including maintenance, analysis and reporting.
* Prepare and send membership materials to new members, respond to inquiries regarding membership. Be informed about ACLU membership and be prepared to respond to questions.
* Prepare bulk mailings.
* Assist with research and other Development Department projects as needed.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico is a state-wide nonprofit membership organization devoted to promoting and defending civil rights and liberties. We have over 6,000 members statewide.

This is a 30 hour/week position. Pay range is $15 - $17.5/hr and will be set depending upon experience.
