Communications Specialist

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Communications Specialist works closely with the Executive Director and other staff to coordinate communications efforts on behalf of the organization to promote the organization’s visibility, including maintaining the website, social networking mechanisms, and communications procedures. Incumbent reports directly to the Executive Director.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Minimum of five years’ experience in communications, public relations, and/or membership campaigns.
• BA degree required.
• Communications, journalism and/or health policy writing experience for lay audiences and policymakers.
• Strong computer skills including expert use of Microsoft Office, database, web content management and social media tools.
• Strong interest in health policy issues as related to families.
