Bilingual Community Liaison - Arabic

Part-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Responsible for leading community dialogue and educational small groups in Arabic; facilitates community building; provides outreach and resource sharing to the refugee/immigrant community; advocates, supports, and provides guidance as needed; orients and familiarizes students, families, and volunteers with programs, services, and community processes.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Translates documents as needed; responds appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population. This position’s work schedule will require some night and weekend shifts.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; a minimum of one-year experience in interpretation/translation services required, fluently bilingual in English and Arabic required; Interpreter Training preferred; multicultural experience preferred. Zoom platform and WhatsApp competencies, as well as moderate computer literacy is strongly preferred.

Salary Range: 
Pay range starts at $18.18 per hour and up to $19.63 per hour, DOE.
