Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Food Cadre is a program of the Santa Fe non-profit Earth Care – a youth and sustainable community development organization. The Food Cadre is an 11-month leadership development program that provides full-time AmeriCorps positions and training for the next generation of food advocates, urban farmers, educators, and leaders. We are seeking dedicated, service-minded Food Cadre Members to begin their 11-month service in non-profits, schools, and local government.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

School-based members will tend school gardens, teach about food, nutrition, hunger, sustainability, help promote healthy foods for lunchrooms, and organize service-learning projects in K-12 classrooms. Community-based positions will develop youth leadership, organize community and home gardens, support farmer’s market programs, food policy, and develop City infrastructure projects.

Other Information/Requirements: 

These are full-time AmeriCorps positions from August 31, 2011 – July 31, 2012. To participate in the program, individuals must be between the ages of 20-35, have at least a high school diploma or GED, be a legal resident of the U.S., and be committed to making a difference.
